HALDEN Reactor. Reflood Tests (SET facility)

CCVM Key:
12.1
Country:
Norway
Organization:
Halden - Halden Reactor
Operating years:
1979 - 1984
Reference reactor:
HBWR
Availability:
Available
Objectives:
In the years up to 1968, the thermalhydraulics was dominant; dryout limits at reactor operating heat rates and instabilities in natural circulation boiling coolant channels were the phenomena primarily investigated. In subsequent years, interest shifted to studies of nuclear fuel behaviour. In the years 1979-1985, there was a return to research in the thermalhydraulics area. Phenomena relevant to the emergency core cooling system intervention were investigated in the two series IFA-511 and IFA-54X.
